Hey there, we’re glad you stopped by! Below you can learn about me, how I started out in the world of graphic design, and where I am today.
I was raised in Chicago’s southwest suburbs and learned the ropes of design – especially those font rules and exacto skills – from the visual communications department at Northern Illinois University. After that, I landed a killer job in corporate marketing.
As my own little side project, I designed my own invitations for my destination wedding in 2005 – which looked fantastic – and I felt really good about the product I created. So after my honeymoon, I ditched my office job and started a business where I printed my own designs the old-fashioned way. Today I work for brides and small businesses. That’s you!
The best part about this whole operation? Well that’s easy! You can take what you envision to be the perfect design and turn it into something you can physically see and touch.
This little design adventure continues to grow and I would have never imagined this growth years ago, when I left my corporate gig. Cheers to pretty snail mail! (Head shots by the wonderful and talented Amanda Hein Photography. Hair + Makeup by the fabulous Blend Beauty.)
MEET LYNDA: OWNER / CHIEF PAPER OFFICER
Lynda has always loved making things – I guess you can say design and creativity is in her blood – but when she isn’t buried in her work, you can find her whipping up some culinary magic of her own, listening to live music with a craft beer in her hand, or walking her lovable pups – Lucy the Schnoodle and Gracie the Pit Bull/Jack Russell mix, who often make appearances on the Instagram feed.
After earning her degree in Visual Communications, Lynda started Greenstar Paperie and has poured her heart and soul into it. The name comes from a song…well, kind of. One of her favorite songs is “Black Star” by Radiohead, but she wasn’t going to name her company Blackstar. Do you want your wedding invitations made by Blackstar Paperie? Probably not! Green is a much friendlier color, so…there you go.
When she’s not at the computer, Lynda enjoys weekend getaways, antique store hopping, frequent meals with her favorite people, champagne, the power of color and pattern, the beauty of the printed good, dirt under her nails from yard work, a beautiful script perfectly placed on a page, and the sense of wonder that comes from traveling to new places.
